Dolphin Stadium
Renovation
Miami, Florida
After nearly twenty years and a number of name changes, Dolphin Stadium is once again blazing the path for the industry.  The renovation and expansion, completed in 2008 offers an unprecedented level of comfort for fans, along with a fresh and renewed exterior aesthetic that creates an entirely new and updated image for the building.

Implemented as a series of phased expansions throughout the entire site, the expansion triples the floor area along the sides of the building to offer shade, climate control, new restaurants, bars, and hotel-quality toilet facilities.  The sleek and rounded design appears to have docked alongside the existing facility, not unlike the nearby cruise ships that have helped to inspire the design and detailing.  Louvered sun control systems, a high-tech curtain wall system, and a shade canopy will help provide shade and comfort to the thousands of fans in the warmer months of southern Florida.

As other new facilities around the country seek to upgrade the experience for their fans, they will once again look to Dolphin Stadium as a benchmark for the next generation of design.

McGraw-Hill’s Southeast Construction Magazine’s “Best of 2007” Awards recognized Dolphins Stadium as the Best Sports Project of the year.
